My original question was:
Dear Gurus,
We have just purchased a DLT IV cartridge drive to replace a 4 tape jukebox DDS1 4mm DAT tape drive.
Our backup now asks for a second DLT tape!!!
How do I enable compression??
I was told the /dev/rmt/2hn device did this??
Backup command: ufsdump 0cfu /dev/rmt/2hn <file_system>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The answer was to use the device /dev/rmt/2cn
"h" is for high capacity, non-compressed
"c" is for high capacity, compressed
