Hi!
I read a lot of FAQ's and I received quit a few answers
to this one, all hinting in what I thought was the right
direction but none of them were able to solve my problem.
The solution I tried and that worked was to get a later
patch list for Recommended Patches for 2.5.1. This newer
patch list was bigger than the older I had (ie more patches).
After installing this it all worked out somehow on all
4 of my machines. Why I don't really know.
Received 3 answers, thanks but they weren't the solution.
Sincere
Roy

Hi guys!
I have 4 Sparcstation LX's onto which I wish to
install Solaris 2.5.1. They have 64 MB RAM and
1GB harddisk.
I install the CD, install Solaris 2.5.1, then I
installed CDE, then I rebooted in single user mode
and installed Recommended PAtches for 2.5.1.
Then I try to log in as root on the CDE desktop
login, it starts CDE, then it quits it and before
many seconds I am back to the login screen again.
Then I see that this session created a core dump
in the / directory. I have never seen this before.
Does anybody know what is wrong and how to atttack
it. I have installed Solaris 2.5.1 on many machines
now, but this is the first time I have ever seen
this.
