Hi,
Thankyou for your Time and effort.
We solved the problem by including an option
in the automountd with "-d OSREL=`uname -r`"
We are using this environment variable to mount
the right filesystem automatically. In Solaris
his environment variable is automatically set. But
in SunOs this need to be set explicitly while starting the
automountd.
( Even though the automound is not started with -d option
it should not behave unusual like this....)
Thanx To

Hi,
This machine automounts /usr/local from a NFS server. Automount maps
are from NIS.
Before running /usr/etc/automount
$ls -ld /usr/local
drwxr-xr-x 1 root 512 jan 1 16:04 /usr/local
The moment I start the /usr/etc/automount this is getting converted to
a link which can never exist.
$ls -ld /usr/local
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root 20 Jan 1 16:04 /usr/local
I am not able to do any of the following
$cd /usr/local
$chmod xxx /usr/local
$rmdir /usr/local
$unlink /usr/local
$rm /usr/local
It gives permission denied....
