Dear Managers,

unfortunately I didn't receive any replies to the question (original
message is below), so the summary is empty. The problem is still
unsolved. I would like to thank everybody who read and thought about
it.

Subject: check_access: access denied AND admhostmod
Content-Length: 2279

Dear Sun Managers,

I was trying to convert a SPARC Solaris 2.6 machine (hostname todd) to
become an OS server. I used the command:

./admhostmod -x type=OS_SERVER todd

and also tried using the hostmanager.

Unfortunately both hostmgr and admhostmod failed with the same error:

Error: check_access: access denied to the host table.

I keep getting the same error even after I allowed r-m-c-d permission
on the host table to everyone:

todd$ niscat -o hosts.org_dir

The user executing this command (username jvm) is the member of group 14
(sysadmin) and is the member of the nis+ admin group:

At this point I have no bright ideas and would really appreciate somebody's
opinion or help.

Please kindly send replies to vladimir@math.uic.edu; I will post
a summary. Thank you.
