Basically, the system checks to see if a keyboard is present
(not a monitor!) before it trys the tty port.
The cable should be a null modem cable (pins 2&3 are
crossed).
The port settings should be 9600,n,8,1 (Serial port
default).
I will try to verify this and repost if necessary.
