SUMMARY:Slow incoming telnet connection

Thanks to everyone who replied.
Most everyone correctly averted to a name resolution issue.

An outside vendor was in on Friday to install some additional hard drives.
Apparently he was also trying to do some unrelated config, and in the process
added dns to the hosts lookup in /etc/nsswitch.conf.
This particular machine is not set up for dns.
Needless to say this vendor will be reprimanded !
