Sun Managers:
Situation: A SS4, Solaris 2.5 will not boot due to a memory alignment
error. If I run "test /memory" at the OBP I get the message "Memory address
not aligned."
Question: How do I fix this?

Solution:
Many, many people quickly responded and most suggested reseating the SIMMs
or removing them one at a time to determine which one could be causing the
problem. I tried reseating the only SIMM in the machine and that did not
work. So I stole a SIMM from another SPARC 4 and swapped the two. Now the
machine boots no problem.

In addition to the above solution, I learned from a Sun Tactical Engineer
that this problem could be produced by the memory controller which is built
into the CPU on a SPARC 4. The solution in that case would be to replace
the CPU.
