I asked the following:

Thanks for all the replies. Russ
Here are the suggestions I recieved:
Check permissions on /dev/null they should be 666. Mine were ok.
Check permissions on /var/lp/logs. they should be 666. Mine were 660.
Check for proper path for lp by doing command: which lp as root and as
users. Making sure lp is in users path. Mine was ok.
Check for package SUNWpsr and SUNWlpmsg. Did not try this.
