Hi, there:
Here's my original question:
Hi, Gurus:
My system is Enterprise 3000 running
Solaris 2.5.1
When I use the "traceroute" command to see
the hops that the packets went through, I
get the following message:
For example:
# traceroute 158.93.2.10
icmp: unknown protocol
Did anybody encounter before?
===========================================
The answer turned out to be I got the run
version of traceroute program (I'm running
Solaris 2.5.1. The traceroute program that
I was using was not for it).
Many people suggested me to chech the
follosoing:
(*). /etc/protocol is in place.
(*). Run traceroute either root or suid.
(*). /dev/ip and /dev/rawip exist.
(*). Of course, the correct version of
traceroute.
Attached is traceroute for Solaris 2.5.1 in
case somebody needs it.
Thanks everyone.
