Hm the first one didn't seem to go tgrough!
Anyways thanks to this list as usual and to the people
who helped. Many sent answers but the two correct ones
were from:
Matthew Stier <Matthew.Stier@tddny.fujitsu.com>
Tim Carlson <tim@santafe.edu>
The answer to the incorrect printing and only printing
"garbage" was to make sure /usr/bin preceded the /usr/ucb
in the PATH that started hpnpd. This did not happen with
me and therefore everything hung on all printers. The
reason is that /usr/bin/echo is different than /usr/ucb/echo
and the jetadmin software doesn't work with the /usr/ucb/echo.
Anyways, you saved my day (and my network)!
Sincere
Roy Ramberg
