Here is the original post:
Hello Sun Managers,
I'll get right to the point. Is there any problem automounting
/var/spool/mail ? We have a new Network Appliance NFS file server that
has lots of disk space on it. We also have about 1800 users eating up a
lot of disk space on our mail server. Most of our (400) workstations
are mounting /var/spool/mail via normal nfs mounts.
Thanks for your help,
--Chris
And the answer is:
You need to mount it with the following switches,
/etc/auto_direct:
/var/spool/mail -rw,noac,actimeo=0 server:/var/spool/mail
Most replies looked like the above example. A few replies suggested
using the -hard switch.
Thanks again for the help.
