Hello,
Sorry for beeing late with this summary. THANKS VERY MUCH TO ALL WHO REPLIED.
My original question is here:
---------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone,
I have a question about CDE :
Can CDE run on a Sparc with a parallax card ?
OpenWindows can run no problem on a machine with this card, but CDE ... ?
TIA,

If you running Solaris 2.x then it should be fine...
Its the same thing: X11!
If it can run OpenWindows its running Xsun and CDE is just another window
management and lib...

Hi
I have a parallax working with CDE with out any problems. In fact I think it
is easier because the users do not have to do anything special to use it.
You just need to modify /etc/dt/config/Xservers to set the framebuffer.
(copy from /usr/dt/config if needed).
The last line should look something like
:0 Local local_uid@console root /usr/openwin/bin/Xsun -dev /dev/fbs/tvtwo0 -nominexp
-nobanner
For some reason the parallax install script links /dev/fb (the default
framebuffer) to the ccube jpeg-codec device! So you should use /dev/fb0
which links to /dev/fbs/tvtwo0. (The nominexp option is a workaround
for a problem of windows using the 8bit overlay).

Hello,
Yes, definitely Parallax supports CDE. In our software installation
guide, it's described on page 11-12. We only support CDE on
Solaris 2.5, with our Solaris 2.5 software.
The file to edit is /usr/dt/config/Xservers; I have attached
the end of this file showing the different permutations; this file must
be edited for CDE to run properly.
