The stupid question was:
every time i boot up my ultra 2 i get the same message about running
fsck manually (DKIOINFO: No ioctl for device /dev/md/dsk/d0: Cannot seek BLK
49807392 unexpected inconsistancy) How can I get rid of it?
The answer was
Change the "Device to fsck" column in /etc/vfstab to refer to the *raw*
device name, /dev/md/rdsk/d0 (note "rdsk" instead of "dsk").
