Further testing has shown that some revs of the transceivers work while others fail to be recognized by the Sun when the ethernet port is initialized. Canary Communications has replicated the problem and reports that they have a hardware fix for the problem. We should be able to test the fix next week.

> Our site has experienced a number of problems using the MII port on the fast ethernet card with Canary transceivers. Only about one out of three transceivers works properly. Since the transceivers go through a verification before they are shipped I believe that there is some sort of interoperability problem here.
