The following command is what I needed:
eeprom security-mode=command
This will set a password on the eeprom which will be prompted when
booting up the machine at single-user mode.

Another method was to declare my console insecure.
Make the following change to /etc/ttytab:
#
# @(#)ttytab 1.7 92/06/23 SMI
#
# name getty type status comments
#
console "/usr/etc/getty cons8" sun on local unsecure
The only problem with this is that I couldn't login as "root" once
the system was booted.
