Here is the solution which helped me to make the TLZ06 work with
SunOs 4.1.3:
1. Original question
Hello sun-managers,
is there anybody who connected a DEC TLZ06 DAT-Tapedrive to a sun
with SunOs 4.1.x and/or knows the configuration data for the files
/sys/scsi/targets/stdef.h and /sys/scsi/targets/st_conf.c similiar
to the description in the faq, subject 5.9 ?
2. The solution
I entered the following in /usr/kvm/sys/scsi/targets/stdef.h:
#define ST_TYPE_DEC 0x2d /* Digital TLZ06 DAT */
and in /usr/kvm/sys/scsi/targets/st_conf.c:
/* DEC TLZ06 4mm cartridge */
{
"DEC TLZ06-VA 4mm Helical Scan", 13, "DEC TLZ06",
0x2b, 512,
(ST_VARIABLE | ST_BSF | ST_BSR | ST_LONG_ERASE),
5000, 5000,
{ 0x13, 0x13, 0x13, 0x00 },
{ 0, 0, 0, 0 }
}
I rebuilt the kernel and now it works fine concerning performance
and capacity.
