To all who replied to my original posting, thankyou.
I perhaps gave the mistaken impression that I was actually having security
and / or access problems with a user.
What I am trying to do is restrict access to a user and provide an audit trail
but otherwise the user I want to su to is a normal user and must be available
for logins. Root will not be used to access this user.
I received several solutions that will let me go in the direction I want to :
sudo
some C fragments to do su type activity
For a quick solution I will go with sudo but if I get the time to do
something useful with Peter Allan's C code, I will post the results.
