Actually, I installed the package under a directory other
than /opt because of disk space problem and then start up
the snm by specifying the actual snm directory
by the SNMHOME env variable as the manual suggested.
However, I got the 'viewBackground' error messages when
I started up snm.
Now we found that we can get around this problem by softlink the
actual snm install directory to /opt/SUnwCONN without
using SNMHOME env variable.
