Thanks to all that responded to my request and those whose repsonse
are still in transit. The answer is that the default is 512K per block
however, that ratio can be changed but is usually kept divisible by 512K
unless the system admin has a special reason for changing it. I do not
recall ever changing it so I'm going to go on the 512K persumption.
