I've been awhile in writing this summary because I've been waiting
for a reply that would be positive and easy to implement. No luck
there I'm afraid. Answers ranged from,
look for users with lots of connections to strange places
look for and kill the slirp daemon/processes
write something that will watch for slirp packets and kill the
process or kill the packet
Unfortunately, none of them are as concrete as I'd like, so I guess
it's time to get my hands dirty.
Thanks for all your responses.
