I made a softlink from /var/mail to /usr/spool/mail
(ln -s /var/mail /usr/spool/mail)
Now I have another question. The mail that goes to /var/mail is now getting
appended to mail in /usr/spool/mail some of the time. Othertimes, the headers
are all getting messed up. What's happenning?
My original post follows.
Thanks much,
Rasana

Hi Gurus,
How do I get all my mail to go to /usr/spool/mail instead of /usr/spool/mail
_and_ /var/mail?
Our setup is that we have a mail hub (SunOS 4.1.3_U) and clients which are
mostly Solaris 2.5.
When I get a mail to me@mailhub, it goes to /usr/spool/mail and I can read
it using mail handler (MH mail) but not /bin/mail.
On the other hand, I have programs which are supposed to send me email. They
send email to me@client. These go to /var/mail so I have to use /bin/mail to
read them. MH mail mail does not work here.
I'd like to direct all my mail to /usr/spool/mail. I tried sendmail's various
rulesets, tried to put the 2 directories in my .cshrc, nothing helps. And oh,
I don't know what I screwed up. Now /bin/mail is beginning to say no mail all
the time even though /var/mail/me shows that I do have mail.
Please HELP.
Thanks! ;(
Rasana
