Thanks to those who responded, the help was greatly
appreciated.
Namely:
"Benjamin J. Anello" <bjanell@sandia.gov>
Todd Pfaff <todd@edge.cis.mcmaster.ca>
Casper Dik <casper@holland.Sun.COM>
Robert Pasken <pasken@thunder.slu.edu>
The trouble bascically boiled down to not having the
correct combination of patches installed.
The correct patch was one from the Solaris 2.4
installation CD,namely patch 102113-xx.
It fixes the trouble introduced by the kernel
patch.
Thanks again.
