SUMMARY: Disappearing drive?

My original post (included below) was a question about a SCSI drive
that the system could no longer see after a reboot. Thanks to everyone
who responded!

Most suggestions were that a SCSI ID conflict existed, but we had checked
that (and hadn't changed any of the targets). One person mentioned that
this had happened to him when the drive's controller board went south,
and I'm assuming that this is what happened to ours, as well. The
replacement drive worked perfectly in the same enclosure with the same
target address.

Thanks again!

----- My question -----
One of the drives on a machine of ours (Sparc 20, SunOS 4.1.4, ODS 1.0)
seems to have mysteriously "disappeared" after a reboot. It's one of
three Micropolis 1991MZ 9gig drives that we had striped into one large
partition.

After the reboot, the system doesn't even see the drive. A probe-scsi
can't find it either. The drive in question (sd3) is the sixth device
on esp0; it's in an Andataco enclosure with an identical drive (sd2).
Other devices on that controller are two internal drives (sd0/1), internal
cdrom (sr0), and an external tape drive (st1). We've rebooted with this
same configuration multiple times before.

We've reseated the drive, checked all connectors, etc., but it has made
no difference. Any ideas as to what might have caused this problem, or
how to fix it? Andataco is shipping us a replacement drive, but I'm
still concerned as to what happened and why.

Thank you for your time!

Dawn
