My original question was:

I received several responses for my question. From these responses,
it is clear to me that I need Sendmail v8, otherwise you have
to do a lot of kludging, especially if you are not using NIS
which is the case for me.

I have not yet made the switch to sendmail v8, but here is the
summary of how you can go about doing it.

Get the latest Sendmail (8.7.5) from ftp://ftp.cs.berkeley.edu/ucb/sendmail
along with the db packages that come with sendmail.

The Sendmail FAQ has a section on how to set up virtual domains if
you have sendmail v8.

The FAQ is at <A
