Yesterday I asked

The general consensus (from too many people to list) is that this is
a problem with cooling in SS20 esp. when there are two internal disks
and a CD-ROM drive. The extra fan sits in between (it's tiny) the hard
disks and the CD and is a standard item now so the retrofit is just up
to a certain serial number. I'm a little peeved that we're only hearing
about this now as some of you have had the fix done a year ago and we've
had soem SS20 disk failures which may well have been due to this. It is
world wide but nobody told this to the "engineer" Sun sent along who said
that it only applied to Germany - suddenly, Germany is the hottest country
in the world :-)
Thank you all and kindest regards,
