Previously I wrote:

The solution was very simple and was identified by a couple of folks:
All that was needed to do was to do was when adding the printer was to
1.) Set the printer type to "HP printer"
2.) Set the output type to "Postscript and Ascii"
3.) Set the printer personality to "auto" - on control panel
