No big success. I got just some helpful hints from Kevin.Sheehan@uniq.com.au
(Kevin Sheehan {Consulting Poster Child}), some tips from
Glenn.Satchell@uniq.com.au (Glenn Satchell - Uniq Professional Services)
and Stephen P Richardson <spr@myxa.com> and a statement about RAID 3 vs.
RAID 5 from Birger.Wathne@vest.sdata.no (Birger A. Wathne).
No one had any idea why ODS 1.0 might slow doen disk access so
substantially. I will be at the installation site and of August
myself and twiddle with the knobs. I'll let you know if I find
anything out. I'll probably try to borrow a SCSI analyser
to see what's really happening.
And I'll try Solaris 2.4/ODS 4.0 just for comparison.
Thanks to everybody,
Lupe
