Dear sun-manager,

Thank you sooooo.. much for your quick responded and times. What happen was,
I did install WABI and it took the floppy entry out of /etc/vold.conf.

I did uncomment out the floppy line then stop and start volmgt. But, it still
not work. This morning I reboot the machine then I am in business.

Thanks a lot to

--------------------------------

My question was:
----------------
In Solaris 2.3 I was be able to read floppy every time I put it in.
After upgrade to solaris 2.4, I can not be able to read my floppy.
I did the "volcheck" but nothing happend.

Summary:
--------

Did you also install WABI? This takes the floppy entry out of
/etc/vold.conf. Uncomment the line, then /etc/init.d/volmgt stop and
/etc/init.d/volmgt start and you should be in business.

-----
Dear Tricia,

Just in case you haven't looked, check to see if the vold daemon is
running (# ps -elf | grep vold). If it isn't there, then you should be
able to restart it with

# /etc/init.d/volmgt start

and, if you need to stop it

# /etc/init.d/volmgt stop

Best of luck,
        Simon

-----
Do a ps -ef |grep vold and see if the volume manager is running.
Chances are it is not....
