I think I found the problem.
When I did ypwhich on the NIS master it show the hostsname of a slave server,
strange.
I have installed patch 102319-01 (sendmail POINT PATCH)
I backout this patch and then everything works as again

updated netid

but only for the aliases file, all others map are OK, and the maps on the slave
servers are updated also.
