My Original problem:
--------------------
I've installed Wabi 2.0 for SPARC-Solaris as root including
Windows, Windows Word, and Excel. When I run wabi as root I get
all of the applications, i.e., Windows, Windows Word, and Excel.
When a normal user runs wabi none of the applications come up and
the program prompts them to run the windows installation. Unfortunetly I
don't have any doc.
The windows applications are installed in /home/wabi and is linked to
/wabi.
My Original Question:
--------------------
How do I get a normal user to recognize where the applications are when
running wabi?
SOLUTION:
---------
I was able to work around the problem by linking the software to
the users home wabi directory. The wabi directory was automatically
created when the user went into the "wabi" application the first
time.
Note, as root, I loaded the software in the /home/wabi directory.
ln -s /home/wabi/windows <users home directory>/wabi
ex.:
ln -s /home/wabi/windows /home/ecadd/lhall/wabi
ln -s /home/wabi/winword /home/ecadd/lhall/wabi
ln -s /home/wabi/excell /home/ecadd/lhall/wabi
When the user brought up wabi, the applications came up.
The following is a listing of the /home/ecadd/lhall/wabi directory:
total 18
-rw-r--r-- 1 hallll ecadd 20 Jun 29 16:03 autoexec.bat
-rw-r--r-- 1 hallll ecadd 35 Jun 29 16:03 config.sys
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 16 Jun 30 11:53 excel -> /home/wabi/excel
drwxrwxr-x 3 hallll ecadd 512 Jun 30 07:45 fc
-rw-rw-r-- 1 hallll ecadd 103 Jun 30 13:00 sysinfo.txt
drwxrwxr-x 2 hallll ecadd 512 Jun 30 15:44 tmp
lrwxrwxrwx 1 hallll ecadd 13 Jun 30 13:00 wabihome -> /usr/SUNWwabi
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 18 Jun 30 12:48 windows -> /home/wabi/windows
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root other 18 Jun 30 11:53 winword -> /home/wabi/winword
Thanks to all who responded to my problem!!
Thanks, Mark
