Thank for the reply. The following is the summary how to setup NIS/yp
client on Solaris 2.3

On YP server:
1. Insert the LX IP address in etc/hosts
2. run etc/var/yp/make hosts

ON yp client:
1. Insert YP server IP address in etc/hosts
2. Create domain name
3. ypinit -c
4. cp /etc/nsswitch.nis /etc/nsswitch.conf
4. reboot system
