The above format.dat has been at a customer since Dec 1994. The
disk died last week and was replaced with a new unit under
warranty. Acording to our distributor the defect radio of
Micropolis, Seagate and other 7200 RPM disks have been around
the same.
The 4221 disk is very fast and works great both using external
termination or the internal terminator. Other than the total
failure no other problems had been reported.
Just bought one Weds for internal company use.
As with all 7200 RPM disk DO NOT INSTALL in a SPARCstation
but in a dedicated external box! Cooling is very important
and they can produce some heat.
