Hi friends,
We have a Solaris 2.3 Server which has a 4 GB partition. This partition is
hard mounted on to all the systems that we have of which most run
4.1.3/4.1.3_u1. For the last couple of days, some of the systems have been
giving the following error message on and off:
Jun 5 13:36:25 sys_name automount[123]: pathok: couldn't find devid 8220(0700) for /tmp_mnt/net/solaris_server/home.
I have the latest patches installed on the Solaris Server and have tries a
reboot of the server.
Could someone shed light on this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Ashwin

I waited for quite some time but got only one relevant answer.
I have include the same below:
I recently talked to a SUN techie about that and was told its due to timing
problems between the underlying nfs and the automountd.
Does no harm and usually dieappears after some time.

I did get the error again on a couple of systems but since it does not cause any trouble, I have learnt to ignore the same.
