My original question was concerned how to start application by clicking
on the icon associated with a file created by the application.
The answer is to use "binder", the button on the OW menu pull-down.
Binder associates some "fingerprint" at the beginning of a file to the
application that created it, and associates the icon that the vendor supplied
icon. This modifies the "/etc/magic" file"
Though my stupidity, I wiped out the names of the kind
folks who helped me - I truely apologize, but I can't assure y'all
it won't happen again!! ;^)
Thanks to all who replied!!
