Sorry for this late summary, a few days off, you know.....
As stated by a lot of people, only the runtime libraries
are bundled with Solaris 2.4. No mwm, no development kit.
The package with the runtime libraries - SUNWmfrun.
Matt Sherek also states that SUNWmfdev (Motif Development Kit)
is on the 2.4 CD.
After install they are put in /usr/dt (they say)....
You get the development kit by purchasing the SDK CD from Sun.
Bill Reed says:
At a recent SunService seminar here in the UK ( attended by several 100
people) it was stated by Sun that Solaris WON'T have Motif bundled with
it. You DO get the motif libraries but NOT the window mgr mwm.
Mwm is bundled with the SDK however.
Sun's aim eventually is to have CDE ( common desktop environment ) to
replace Openwindoze.
The best bet, which we have done, is to buy motif for your
machines from IXI.
