I asked a few days ago about why my Sparcs couldn't recognize
my 3/80. Several kind people pointed out that this was an easy
one, and pointed me to /etc/exports, rpc.mountd, and nfsd.
Unfortunately, I neglected to mention that we'd had to reinstall
SunOS 4.1.1 on the 3/80 from the original tapes. Thus, the
difficulty was even simpler: the system was cheerfully advertising
itself as "noname" in /etc/defaultdomain, when it should have been
advertising itself as gazelle. The solution was to edit the
/etc/defaultdomain file and reboot. Thank you all for your patience.
