The audio device must be idle on shutdown.

Sounds like you may have installed the patches that were supposed to be for
the Sun Voyager product. They included a patches/update disk with 2.4
and if you installed anything off of that, then that might be the
problem. You might want to see what patches that installed and uninstall
them.

Check to see if /dev/audio is in /etc/power.conf
If it is remove it and restart powerd
