I have received 6 answers.
This motherboard seems to work fine and speedy. But not as speedy as a =
true SS5 since the SS1 memory is not as speed as the SS5 memory.
Some advices are :
- If we mix different kind of memory (SS1 style and SS5 style), we have =
to switch the motherboard to the lowest memory speed (100ns).
- The old disks are just SCSI, not FAST SCSI-II.
- Check the price on the shops around.
- Try a SS5 clone without a screen and use the one's from the SS1.
- Look at the Axilerate board from Axil Workstations.
So in the meantime Sun has announced the SparcStation 4. So, before =
buying anything, we will wait until we receive more informations on this =
new one.
