Hello:

I would like to thank everyone for their help on my
question regarding multiple IP addresses on the same
ethernet interface on a Sun.

Here is a summary of what I found out:

For Solaris 2.* (The new AT&T based Solaris); there
is a method built in. It goes something like this:

ifconfig le0 192.1.1.1 (first IP)
ifconfig le0:1 192.2.1.1 (second IP)
ifconfig le0:2 192.3.1.1 (third IP)
 and so fourth

For SunOs 4.1.3 and 4.1.4 (The old BSD based Solaris); you have
to get a piece of software called vif (virtual interface)
which is available at anonymous ftp from
ugle.unit.no:/pub/unix/network/vif-1.0.tar.gz

I would like to thank Steinar Haug of the University of Trondheim,
Norway, who released this system, along with John Ioannidis, who
wrote it.

I would also like to thank Jon Diekema for emailing a shell
archive of this system to me!

Here are the folks who responded to me. Thanks!!
