Tom Orban <orban@advtech.uswest.com>
who all directed me to the right solution. Thnaks specially to
jerry.springer@valcom.com (Jerry Springer)
who wrote me a clear solution to my problem.
Here is his answer:
>Simon-Bernard,
>There are jumpers (not dip switches) on the underside of the disk drive.
>If you turn it over with the power and data connectors oriented at the bottom
>(with the power on the left) the jumper pins will be right above the power

>spin up. Do not change those. THe three sets of pins above those are for SCSI
>addressing. The pins are "weighted" as 1,2,and 4. The top pin (A0) is 1. Below that
>(A1) is 2. And the third from the top (A3) is 4. Your first disk drive will be set
>to SCSI ID 3. Chances are this new drive is also set that way. If it is there will
>be a little black jumper on the A0 and A1 pins (1 + 2 = 3). The most common thing is

>To make it SCSI ID 1 simply remove the jumper on the A1 pins.
>Here is a little diagram of the bottom of the drive. It might be helpful.
