I only got one reply from paul@polaris1.com that stated it's a hardware
problem. Thanks a lot, Paul.

Aline,
It looks to me to be a hardware problem.
I'm guessing this is a sparc 10. If the machine has 2 CPU modules,
it is the bottom one that is bad. Pull both out and install the one that
was in the top slot in the bottom slot. Boot the machine. If the problem
persists, it is the system board that is bad.
Good luck,
Paul

One person flamed me because I didn't provide enough info for the machine.
It's an Axil311 running SunOS V4.1.3 with the following patches:
100689-01, 100943-01,100444-43. The patches are only for Mentor Graphics
software that require those patches to install their software.
There is no device attached to the machine. And no change has been made
since I installed the patches about a year ago. Sorry about that.
I called Axil up since our machine is still under warranty.
They say they will send me a new cpu board. I will wait until the board
arrives then will experiment Paul's advice.
Regards, Aline...
