I had a bugged version of convertfont. It requires patch #100454-03.
I appiled it and it works great! The patch can be found via anon. ftp
at qiclab.scn.rain.com:/pub/sunos-patches/ow30/100454-03.tar.Z

Again, Sun Managers is the best.
