Folks,
This query hit the list just at Christmas time, so I didn't get many replies -
- 2 in fact! But one was I needed. Thanks to bob@sna.co.umist.ac.uk, I'm now
under way. To use this CDROM on a vanilla Sun system, it needs to have the dip
swithces set to use 512 byte blocks. The dip switches on the rear of the
device are...

Switch 1 - termination (up yes)
Switch 2 - SCSI ID value 1 (up)
Switch 3 - SCSI ID value 2 (up)
Switch 4 - SCSI ID value 4 (up)
Switch 5 - Parity (up on)
Switch 6 - Blocking (down 2048, up 512)

I understand it's possible to use 2048 byte blocking by fiddling with SCSI
parameters in the kernal modules. This is described in a CDROM FAQ in
newsgroup comp.sys.sun.hardware.
