My appologies, `ar' lives in /usr/ccs/bin along with a lot of other
programming tools. Part of the SUNWtoo package.
Thanks to everyone who would've told me where to look if I hadn't started
digging around on the CD again.

Subject: need solaris2 `ar' binary
I've got the gcc binaries, I've managed to compile `make', `bison' and a
handful of other useful programs. But I'm stuck without `ar' and I can't
convince the GNU binutils to configure or build correctly.
Does anyone know where I can either snarf a binary (sparc, solaris2.3) or
the source for something I can compile (the bsd-sources version from
uunet had, umm.. problems)?
ta.
