Thanks to all the people who so quickly replied to my question. The answer
is of course to use the "-f" switch:
csh -f
- which disables excecution of .login & .cshrc files.
I did read the man pages, but missed it .... :^(. I don't often use "csh",
so please forgive my ignorance !
