The (almost) univeral response was to upgrade to X11V5 because V4 is known to
have bugs.

Thanks to everyone (too many to list) who responded, and especially to those
who sent their executables. tbarlow@ucdavis.edu suggested looking at
FTP.UOREGON.EDU for executables for SunOS and Solaris application.
