Original question:
-------------------------
We've installed our first Solaris 2 on an LX. All the others on
our small ethernet are SunOS 4.1.3.
Occasionally (that is too often....) we get
le0: - no carrier, cable disconnected or hub link test disabled
......and NFS on the SunOS 4.1.3 machine gets a timeout.
We have to do some command on the net on the LX (like remote login) to
resolve this. Then it runs ok for a short while, just to get the
timeout again, and again, and again......
We run automounter, no NIS or NIS+.
The backup routine gets hung, so pleeeeaaase help!
----------------------------
Did not really find a solution. I guess I might have to find a few
patches for Solaris 2.3 (at least the NFS Jumbo patch).
The answers I got suggested bad connection somewhere. I had checked this
and the problems appeared when upgrading from 4.1.3 to 2.3, no problems
prior to this.
Paul Humphreys also suggested that the eeprom setting of 'tpe-link-test?' might
be 'false'. It was 'true', as it should be.....
