Thanks for all responses!

My original question:
>Does anybody know what patches are needed/recommended for SunOS 4.1.3_U1?

It seems that all the important patches have been integrated in the release.
A list of patches not fully integrated or not integrated at all can be found
in the attachment. I have found two performance patches that are not listed
there. They are:
101508-01 sun4m jumbo patch
101509-01 watchdog reset

Some answers:
>A lot of patches are integrated into 4.1.3_U1. A jumbo-jumbo-jumbo patch
>for openwin 3.0 ist also on the CD. You have to install the openwin patch
>separately, it is not automaticly installed by the OS-Installation.

>From SunFLASH Vol 61 #4 :
>Q. Are all Solaris 1.1a and 1.1c patches integrated into Solaris 1.1.1?
>A. Most OS patches are source integrated but some patches are on the
> OS CD. Patches on the OS CD are: OpenWindows OW3_U1 jumbo patch,
> the fdc82077 patch, the security patch (100103-11), and the
> Viking patch for SuperSPARC(TM) 2.x systems.

>The first thing you still need to do after installing SunOS 4.1.3_U1
>is delete the /etc/hosts.equiv file which contains only a plus sign
>and allows anybody to rlogin.

                  Solaris 1.1.1 Patch Integration List
                   and Cross Reference Report Update

                           as of 07/Jan/94

SunService, A Sun Microsystems, Inc. Business

SCOPE:

This is a patch info update to the Solaris 1.1.1 Release Notes and Late
Breaking News documents delivered with the Solaris 1.1.1 CD. This update
report contains latest SunOS integration and patch cross reference
information for the Solaris 1.1.1 release.

CONTENT:

  I. Quick Reference Section:

Top 25 Distributed Patches versus Solaris 1.1.1
      Security Patch Cross Reference

II. Complete 1.1.1 Patch Integration Cross Reference

      A. Patches Integrated into 1.1.1
      B. Patches Partially Integrated
      C. Patches Not Integrated
      D. Point Patches

IMPORTANT NOTES:

As mentioned in the 1.1.1 Release Notes, do not apply previous SunOS release
patches to Solaris 1.1.1. Solaris 1.1.1 will require a NEW patch-id for
any non-integrated SunOS patch or patch rev level that is forward ported
to 1.1.1. All currently available SunOS 1.1.1 patches are listed with the
new patch-id in the cross-reference information provided.

Since the OpenWindows 3.0 release is the same in both Solaris 1.1 and
Solaris 1.1.1 there are no new 1.1.1 specific OpenWindows patches and
the existing OpenWindows 3.0 patch set will continue to apply to 1.1.1.
Therefore this report does not include OpenWindows patch references except
in the Security Patch Cross Reference section.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

Customers with service support contacts can contact their local service
provider or service center for additional or any latest service info,
or use the SunSolve Online service where available.

This information will also be available in the "Info Doc" category for
customers with access to the SunSolve service.
