SUMMARY: Solaris 2.2 and DAT drives

All,

I had been experiencing problems with the DAT drive which SUN had
supplied for our SparcClassic. The DAT drive is a Python 4352XP system
and I had numerous response to resolve my problem.

The first solution was to modify /etc/system to include the following

set st:st_report_soft_errors_on_close=0

this worked first time and I didn't experince any funny problems after
this statement was included.

I was also advised to include patch 101054-03 which ironed out a few
bugs. I installed this and to date I have not experienced any problems.
