To keep it short : YES, there is a list - in the newsgroup
comp.sys.sun.admin, apparently written/moderated by John di Marco
(jdd@cdf.toronto.edu). Three or four persons sent me that list
(near 1500 lines).
[maybe] there is a list available by anonymous ftp from:
ra.mcs.anl.gov in the file /sun-managers/format.dat.
# -rw-r--r-- 1 91 staff 49374 Dec 6 17:36 format.dat
Try: xgopher aurora.latech.edu 70 -xrm Xgopher.rootPath: 1/Archives/Sun Managers
In addition, I got
for the ST42400N:
--------------------------------------------------
disk_type = "Seagate Elite-2 ST42400N" \
:ctlr=MD21:fmt_time=5 \
:ncyl=2841: pcyl=2843: nhead=19: nsect=77: acyl=2 \
:rpm=5400:bpt=44737:bps=581
The c partition will have 4156383 blocks.
--------------------------------------------------
on sol 2.2 (no, I'm still running 1.1)
0. c0t1d0 <Seagate ST42400ND cyl 2624 alt 2 hd 19 sec 83>

for the ST43400N:

: ctlr = SCSI \
: ncyl = 2730 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 2732 : nhead = 21 : nsect = 99 \

--------------------------------------------------
ST43400N Elite 3:

Note that the numbers differ significantly !
I myself have now (have finally found the data sheets from our vendor)
<Seagate ST42400N cyl 2622 alt 2 hd 19 sec 83>
<SEAGATE ST43400N cyl 2732 alt 2 hd 21 sec 99>
